$43 Million Tear-Down Approved In Sagaponack

A minor but factual detail is the house was actually built in 1987-88, not in 2000 as the article states. Other than that, best of luck to all involved. As the world turns...................." Apr 27, 11 11:24 AM

How could anyone NOT feel good about all of these statements. I mean, Its just too good to be true. Our politicians are just SO kind and helpful. Oh wait, who's paying for this again?" Oct 3, 14 7:54 AM

Mr Bridge, your reasoning is not well received. As we are a Gazillion dollars in debt and our dear congressman somehow manages to "find" a spare half Mil and decides to channel it "our way", does this mean it's an honorable or proper thing to do? Let's assume you have a mortgage on your home and then luckily or otherwise come across some "extra money", say through inheritance or wining a lottery, would you decide to buy that new car or take that dream vacation with the extra cash? Or would you pay down some of or all of your debt? This is why I take issue with Mr. Bishops actions. How can he be seen as a champion for us locals while driving us further into debt? It should be first things first. It simply is not the right thing to do. Hey, it's only a half million you might say, a drop in the bucket, but that rationale does not work if we truly care about our future. For this and many other reasons, Mr. Bishop will not get my vote in November. Vote for the other guy." Oct 5, 14 9:40 AM

With all due respect, it is Bishop himself that is responsible for his bum rap. House Ethics Committee charges are still pending final review. Listed as one of Congress's most corrupt by CREW ( along with almost a dozen Republicans mind you, so not blasting the Dems here) And in lockstep with all the wrong politicians/reasons we all dislike Washington. He really is part of the problem.
And byt the way, I do know who the other guy is. VoteFor GeorgeAltschulerLeeDemosRandyZeldinAnyOneButBishop!! Sorry, I forgot good old Felix!!" Oct 6, 14 8:31 AM

Democrat Perry Gershon Will Run Again In 2020, Seeking To Unseat U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin

"I will spend more time up there and will be working very hard to identify with those areas," he said. "I'm here to fight for the entirely to eastern Long Island."

These quotes explain his position quite well. A true local indeed.

Where is "up there"? From where does he speak? "Those areas"? hmm.
Off to a great start Perry.

" Apr 5, 19 8:41 PM

Yes, of course. And I do see your point.
I think Perry's sentiments may alienate those voters not from the east end.
Regardless, Lee is working hard for our first congressional district and will gladly welcome all opponents with verve and enthusiasm when the time comes." Apr 6, 19 9:32 AM

UPDATE: Governor Cuomo Announces $756,000 For Bike And Multi-Use Trail Between Two Hampton Bays Parks

New York State is now about $150 Billion in debt. 2nd highest in the US.
This equals about $22,000 per taxpayer, in debt. Yes, you/us the taxpayer.
Is spending $144 million that we don't have on bike/trails (or anything) a good idea for us New Yorkers?
How is this expenditure considered acceptable?
Finances 101. " Apr 24, 19 8:39 PM

I think most would agree with your first comment.
It appears unlikely that New York will be able to catch up to our debt accumulation based on current spending.
New College grads in NY state earn, on average about $50K/yr. $200K/year? Unlikely for the 90%.
The question remains : Is this a prudent move for us as New Yorkers to continue going deeper in debt?
