The schools need to cut their budgets by getting rid of the collection of superintendants they have making over 100k each and don't have any direct involvement with students. That is just a start. Hi Nature since HH hasn't responded to you I will. I am a property owner and Police taxes are Less than $200 for the year. We pay more for Fire and Ambulance than police. We pay almost $400 for library and then there is the lovely school tax that is over $7k. Did you ever notice when it comes to cuts in the schools it's always things for the kids sports, clubs, music ect. It's sad that the district is cutting any teachers and class sizes will increase. Yet the Brookhaven town planning board just approved another housing development (Woodland Meadows) of 70 homes for our district. That brings a minimum of 140 children. The article is on the front page of this weeks printed adition. You can't keep building housing and expect to work with less teachers and have your taxes increased and get less services.
