UPDATE: Police Identify Woman Killed In Fatal CR39 Accident

Please explain to me why it takes any medical professional with the proper credentials NINE HOURS to pronounce one person dead and the Town of Southampton to clear the road of an accident. It's absurd! There are multi-vehicle accidents with multiple fatalities all over Suffolk County on all roadways -- and yet only County Road 39 closes for such ridiculous amounts of time! This has nothing to do with disrespect for the young woman who lost her life, but rather a practical matter that I'd like explored. Every darn time there is an accident on County Road 39, from fender bender to serious, it takes Southampton police/authorities a ridiculously exorbitant amount of time to clear the dang roadway and get traffic moving again. Get your act together, Southhampton." Jul 25, 13 8:02 PM

Starbucks Plans Hampton Road Location; Southampton Mayor Won't Support Store

How short-sighted of Mayor Epley. It's ridiculous to have to drive to Hampton Bays to get a Starbucks. The store would bring traffic and actually be a service to the myriad people who work, shop, day trip, and vacation here. Southampton Village needs to get with the 21st century and offer its residents, tourists, and workers what THEY WANT -- not what a bunch of preservationists out-of-touch with their constituency want to preseve the status quo. Why does the Golden Pear and its overpriced menu get special preference? Sounds like preferential treatment -- Carvel, yes. Starbucks, no. Yes, Mayor Epley...throw away the tax revenue AND business that Starbucks will bring to your backwards little town. " Jul 7, 14 11:33 AM

No, it's called "personal choice". And it would be an unncessary one if the Southampton snobs would wake up and realize that hanging on to the past is ridiculous -- and bad for business. The fact that people actually DO make the drive to get what they want should communicate one thing and one thing only: It's a sale that would otherwise be made in Southampton Village. YOU'RE the ridiculous one for not seeing the lost sales that get made in neighboring towns. " Sep 22, 14 11:05 AM

Mr. Davis, are you still bringing over students from England and abroad to work your stores for you instead of giving jobs to actual American citizens?? I'm sure our young people would much appreciate the summer job opportunities that you willfully give away to save money paying livable American wages. At least Starbucks hires AMERICANS. UPDATE: PSEG Completed Tree Trimming On County Road 39

Typical example of ZERO coordination or communication between municipalities and utilities. And certainly ZERO thought or consideration of the hard-working tax payers simply trying to get to work!! Epic fail!" Oct 7, 14 9:58 AM
