Theater Review: ‘Promises, Promises’ Is A Winning Time Capsule

What a great show! Darren Ottati and the entire cast were wonderful. I enjoyed
the show immensely. Can't say enough about the cast. Mike Discher did a
phenomenal job directing the show as well. My wife enjoyed it as well, and
she is taking our daughter to see it this weekend. My wife is very lucky for
getting to see the show again. I would go as well, but my wife wants a little
mother/daughter time.
Congratulations to all associated with this production." Mar 20, 17 4:28 PM

The Parent-Coach Conundrum In High School Sports Stresses All Sides, Educators Say

There is to much emphasis on winning instead of participating in sports which
can be instrumental in learning how to exist and experience what life will bring.
I had the opportunity to coach little league baseball for nearly a decade. One of
my teams won a Long Island championship. The following year, having the
majority of the team back, I decided to divide the into another team giving all
the young players the opportunity to play. Of course, many parents objected.
They couldn't understand why I was breaking up such a good team. I explained
to them that I was giving more kids the chance to play. Although some parents
didn't like it, the parents of the less talented players did, and appreciated what I did for the kids. Although neither team won the league championship, both
teams finished tied for second place which was very respectable. In the end, I
believe just about everyone was happy. I certainly feel that I made the right
decision. A coach can only produce a team to compete with the talent of
athletes he or she have at their disposal. Finally, it's nice to be a winner, but
sports is so much more than winning. " Apr 25, 17 5:51 PM

Michael Bloomberg Reaches Out To Southampton Town Official, Hoping To Revive Discussion Of Tuckahoe Road Reroute

Dear Mr. Pickett: It is not in the hands of the people planning the new
hospital. It is in the hands of the tax paying residents of the Town of Southampton. It is my hope the citizens of the town want the road to remain
as it is. Let's keep this beautiful roadway open with its wonderful vista open
for all the residents of the town.

Hampton Bays Friendly's To Close Soon; Building Listed For Sale

The residents of Hampton Bays have themselves to blame for all the problems.
We could do something about changing HB if the residents of the Hamlet would
voice their complaints to the Town Board. After all, Hampton Bays has the largest voting block in the township. This is why the politicians spend an inordinate amount of time campaigning here during election time. Furthermore,
Hampton Bays is large enough to incorporate and become a village. This would
allow us to control our own destiny. Unfortunately, the majority of our residents
don't have the desire to do so. It is very sad. As a village, we would be able to control the illegal housing violations taking place in our hamlet. Our town officials and code enforcement aren't doing the job, as the illegal housing
continues. Until we incorporate, Hampton Bays will continue to deteriorate." Jul 21, 17 5:58 PM
