Keep the politics out of our great Police Department, and let the Chief and the
dedicated men and women of the Southampton Town Police Department perform their duties. Also, the Police Department should receive the requested
technology upgrades it needs as an accredited agency to assist in serving us citizens.
p.s. They need a new Police Facility (Heasdquarters) as well ! The present one is a disgrace! Just look at Southampton Village, Sag Harbor Village and the New York State Police. They all have state of the art facilities to effectuate their service to the public."

Yes, Tim Bishop is the best man for the job. The 1st congressional district
will be much better off with him in office. He is a hard worker, dedicated, and
posesses a great deal of integrity. Moreover, he is well respected amongst his peers in Congress, and his seniority can truly benefit our district."

Tim Bishop should be reelected! He is doing a great job, he is very honest and hard working. He too, came from humble beginnings, but worked hard to achieve the American dream. Also, he came from a wonderful family and his parents brought him up well. Keep up the good work Tim."

Congratulations Chief Cummings! Well done!" May 23, 12 2:06 PM
Mr. Behan is a great man and a hero to me.! He served his country with valor. Also, he was a great public servant and advocate for us on the east end. He represented us well during his tenure in Albany as an Assembyman.
We should all have the love of country like Mr. Behan. His endorsement of
Congressman Bishop is right on target. Mr. Bishop is the right person for the
job."

The six people against the airport should relocate, if they don't like living near
its location. The airport was there long before they resided in East Hampton
Town. Get over it, or move! Stop creating these lawsuits against the Town, and burdening the taxpayers with the cost of excessive litigation. "

Congratulations to District Attorney Thomas Spota and the Chiefs of Police of the five eastern towns and villages of Suffolk County for instituting this worthwhile law enforcment initiative. It is a great utilization of resources which
is bringing about great results with respect to driving while intoxicated offenders. Our roadways will be much safer!"
Jul 24, 12 7:25 PM
Keep the airport! We do not need anymore development. Our roadways can't handle the traffic volume from Southampton to Montauk now! " Aug 8, 12 7:28 PM
Its very disappointing to see the Suffolk County Municipal Employees Union endorse Randy Altschuler. Don't forget that Mr. Altschuler out sourced over
15,000 jobs. The union should be ashamed of itself! What are they thinking?
They need to leadership!"

Good luck and much success to Chief Robert Pearce." Dec 5, 12 8:44 PM
I would like to commend the Village of Southampton, Mayor Mark Epley and all of its citizens for recognizing the 150th anniversary of the Emanicpation Proclamation. It will be glorious day for the village and Southampton at large.
This important day should be celcbrated all across the United States.

It is my opinion that the Sag Harbor Village Police Department performs an incredible service to its residents. Keep the police department intact. Bigger isn't better! Home rule is the way to go! Just ask the Mayors of the villages to the west in both Suffolk and Nassau counties. Most of them would love to have their own police agencies." Jan 2, 13 4:44 PM
I am all for Hampton Bays incorporating. Its been long overdue. Hampton Bays will be much better off controlling its own destiny. It may cost some to become incorporated in the short term, but over time the advantages of a village government will pay huge dividends for its residents. Also, create a village that is self-sufficent and not reliant on the town for any services, such as Southampton Village, Quogue, and Sag Harbor. Along with code enforcement, create a police department, highway department, and parks department. Hampton Bays Inc. would be a full service village, and in control of its own welfare and future. The benefits to Hampton Bays Inc. will be monumental!" Jan 22, 13 2:07 PM
My sincere condolences to the family of Tom Porter. Tom was a wonderful]
person and held in very high esteem by his colleagues at the Suffolk County
Probation Department and the members of the Suffolk County Police Association. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him"

Sag Harbor had a fine Police Department. They do a great job! They also
have a great Chief of Police. The Mayor and the Sag Harbor Village Board
are being short sighted. Summer is coming. We all know what that is like in
Sag Harbor. The Village Board should give the Police Department the requisite resources for them to continue to do the proper job. Stop the politics
Mayor. Get on with the business at hand. The cost of one officer isn't going to make a large difference in your 8.8. million budget. The protection and
safety of Sag Harbor residents and the community's visitors should be a top
priority.

Great arrest and a job well done by the great Southampton Village Police
Department!"

I wish Chief Ed Ecker the best in retirement. He is a class act, and a true
law enforcement professional. I am sure that former chief's Tom Scott and
Todd Sarris would agree with my sentiments. Have a long and happy
retirement Ed. You deserve it! "
