The lives of lamps

This is exciting news. I have two lamps sitting by the door and no where to take them for repair until right this minute. Thanks!" Jun 4, 09 1:37 AM

Gregor digs in, and out, as new Southampton Town highway superintendent

I was dazzled at how good the plowing was in my Mt. Misery section of Sag Harbor. It was done quickly, often and well. The drivewyas were not blocked, the plowing was prompt AND well-thought-out. Last December the service was hopeless. My thanks and congratulations for a job well done this time.
As a volunteer driver for the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons, I could not believe how in 24 hours after the snow, there was no road I could not travel. All best to all of you." Feb 18, 10 6:32 PM

East Hampton to solicit bids to sell Fort Pond House

It seems to this reader that the Town of East Hampton continues to publicly embarrass itself. Many Supervisors appear as though they are in a self-parody Saturday Night Live skit. It would be funny if it didn't sell our future down the drain. We should all be ashamed of this behavior.

Town Changes Leaf Pick-Up Program Again

We would all be better off with smaller lawns and more natural woods and native plants. Imagine, 500 years ago the leaves just fell and everything lived happily ever after. Our obsession with manicured lawns brings on the leaf problem to start with. Not to mention the damage to watershed and natural systems we do with the pesticides and herbicides it takes to grow grass in this ecosystem. The history of the "lawn" goes back to a class system long ago in Europe. People with money had animals, animals ate grass and made "lawns." And so here we are hundreds of years later. Aren't we the funniest creatures?" Apr 16, 11 9:16 PM

What Happens To Our Recycling, Part One: The Recycling Myth

Excellent reporting. I too have always wondered about this system and suspected things may not have been what we thought. I look forward to next article and thank you all for the time and energy to enlighten us. Kudos. Let's see more." Dec 1, 18 3:15 AM
