Marienfeld fired as Pierson hoops coach

I've known Fred for many years, there is no one more dedicated to his team and community. This is an unfortunate situation for everyone! " Feb 7, 09 12:41 PM

Wilkinson concedes that dock sale is off the table

Selling the town docks sort of gives new meaning to all those "Montauk...The End" bumper stickers! Doesn't the sign when you enter Montauk say "The Fishing Capital of the World"?!" May 24, 10 5:04 PM

If we sell all of our precious assets now, we will regret it when things get better financially and we have no tennis courts, no docks, no indoor hockey rink where many local kids play... but we will have plenty of open preserved space left that is conveniently bordering the backyards of the wealthy! Too bad we can't unload some of that. Or get rid of the new town hall- otherwise known as Adelaide deMenil's tax write-off!" May 25, 10 10:33 AM

ZBA turns down East Hampton Library expansion

So many comments from people who obviously haven't followed this story in the papers! The library expansion is being paid for privately with funds the library raised, NOT taxpayer money. The ZBA is being influenced by the Osborns and a handful of neighbors who do not want this expansion. Twice the library has done mailings to all EH village residents, and each time 90% of cards returned were in favor of the expansion. EH Village is wasting our time and money, just pass it already!" McGintee to sue Town of East Hampton

Springs Girl, you must be Bill's relative! Can't see how anyone else could defend him. He's scum." Aug 5, 10 1:30 PM

East Hampton Library sues Zoning Board of Appeals

If they are so worried about the traffic in that area, newsflash, the biggest traffic hazard is all of the church fairs and Mulford Farm antique and plant sales all summer long, why not ban those?! Its not the library clogging up the roads but the several huge events all going on at the same time. The public wants the expansion, and the ZBA is supposed to represent their constituents." The Newest Hamptons Hot Spot

Montauk is technically in the Town of East Hampton, thus it is in "the Hamptons"" Oct 21, 10 12:21 PM

Town Will Investigate Charges Of Code Violations At Springs Home

Only 11 cars? They should see the house across the street from me (and it is not in Springs)- we are talking 15-17 cars, some of which are big diesel work trucks, skidsteer, etc. People coming and going all day and night, the house was ransacked at one point (oh I wonder why?!) Several complaints over the last few years to the building department and not a single thing was done about it!" Feb 23, 11 12:19 PM

Hispanic Families Speak On Multifamily Housing

I also just want to provide a better life for my family. That better life does not include looking at the more than 9 cars that are generally parked across the street from me on any given day. That life does not include looking at your landscaping business equipment parked on your front lawn, including a huge diesel truck, a trailer, your skidsteer. That life does not include a life where my kids can't go out in our front yard to play or ride their bikes because of the constant traffic going in and out of your yard! That life does not include a visit from the police when your house was ransacked asking if I saw anything, which coincidentally now has my children thinking we are going to be burglarized! And I am speaking of yet ANOTHER home, not the one on Copeces. It has nothing to do with being racist. It is a quality of life issue. Why am I told what shrubbery to plant in my yard and how much I can clear my land and what size shed to use and where to put it, but these people pull the race card and are allowed to do whatever they want? It is time to stop calling taxpayers racist when they merely want everyone to follow the law of the land. No more excuses." Mar 9, 11 12:33 PM

Teen Night At East Hampton Nightclub Called Exploitive

Your post explains why Mr. Fine would be "obsessed" with Lily Pond! The police are fed up as well. Alcohol poisoning, fights, parents letting their kids get drunk before going- this apparently has been getting more and more out of control. Parents, do your job and actually parent your kids- more than one parent was overheard saying they just couldn't say no to their kid because everyone else was going- isn't that your job?! And if you're daughter tries to leave the house dressed like a ho, send her back upstairs to change. Common sense people! " Nov 3, 11 1:42 PM

East Hampton Teachers Contract Would Include Salary Freeze And Other Concessions

It says that Priscilla Campbell asked for details to not be released until after the contract is presented to the teachers and voted on- the teachers do not even know yet what is in the contract! Once it is ratified by the teachers the details will be announced. This has been the most transparent budget ever presented for those who bothered to pay attention. " May 3, 12 7:29 AM

East Hampton Planning Board Sued Over Bowling Alley Approval

Completely absurd lawsuit- NIMBYism at its best. This project is overwhelmingly seen as a positive improvement to our community by the vast majority of locals. Give me a break- its not like you live in the estate area, you live near the airport and an iindustrial complex for God's sake. " Jul 13, 16 10:54 PM
