Well-known Quogue establishment closes its doors

The best poached eggs and corn beef hash that I have ever had! I often think of Collette and Pamela and wish that I could still enjoy their comapny as well as their food. I know that you will be terribly missed. East Hampton may be the prettiest village on the East End, but Quogue is certainly the silliest. The Inn Spot on the Bay will continue to thrive!" Ebullient production of 'Mame' in Riverhead

I remember a wonderful production of Mame done by the Riverhead Faculty and Community theater 10-12 years ago. Mame was played by Sally Ann Brink, former English teacher in the high school and counselor. She, and her husband Don Brink, crafted a memorable show. I am pleased to see the tradition of excellence is being carried on. Brava Mame." Nov 19, 09 4:16 PM

Shinnecock Indian Nation wins preliminary federal recognition

I congratulate the Shinnecock tribe on the wonderful news. It is about much more than gambling. It is about finally recognizing and validating this tribal community. So many inside the reservation have worked for years to have the status designated by the federal government. It is long long overdue. " Dec 15, 09 10:22 PM
