Yastrzemski, Cannon and Wilson win uncontested election in Southampton Village.

Jun 23, 2010 10:18 AM

There were no surprises at the polls in Southampton Village on Friday, when three unopposed candidates won reelection to their posts and no write-in candidates cracked double digits.

Village Trustees Richard Yastrzemski and Bonnie Cannon won reelection to the Village Board, while Village Justice Barbara Wilson won a third term in her position—all collecting nearly identical vote tallies.

Mr. Yastrzemski, an assistant vice president at Merrill Lynch’s global wealth management division in Riverhead, will serve a second two-year term on the board after earning 323 votes, while Ms. Cannon, the executive director of the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreation Center, earned a third term after garnering 321 votes. Ms. Wilson, who is also a justice for Southampton Town, collected 323 votes to serve another four-year term.

All three ran on the Citizens with Integrity Party line.

Congratulations to Trustees Cannon and Yastrzemski! I am grateful to the Village Board for the work that they have put in to keep Southampton the beautiful village that it is.

Please support Mayor Epley in his fight to stop the Tuckahoe Main Street project. This development will be ruinous for the Southampton Village Business District.
