It hasn't proven itself dangerous enough since they made it two lanes in one direction for Southampton, the powers that be are now in the process of doing the same to Route 58 in Riverhead. Time to go back to bicycles ? Lanes not wide enough for larger vehicles, let alone tractor-trailers. With all the brainiacs making dumb decisions, I'm glad I left the Island.

The hamptons will never return to the pre 1980 days. The mentality of don't build it and they won't come hasn't panned out. All that backward thinking was to give hardship to locals and visitors alike for years. Widening the road was the best quality of life construction done. I would like the town to give a report on the amount of accidents before and after the widening.
