Police: Sag Harbor Man Fires Gunshots During Attempted Robbery Of Homeowner Tuesday Night

Feb 11, 2015 3:12 PM

Sag Harbor Village Police are searching for a man who they said attempted to rob a neighbor in his Hillside Drive home Tuesday night and fired several gunshots when the victim did not give him any money.

According to police, Ali Wisdom, 37, also of Hillside Drive, entered a neighbor’s home at approximately 7:40 p.m. Tuesday night and demanded money, holding a semi-automatic weapon to the homeowner’s head. When the man refused, Mr. Wisdom fired two shots into a television, police said, and the victim ran out an open back door and into another neighbor’s house.

After the victim ran out, Mr. Wisdom fired one more shot through the front window of the house and then fled the scene on foot.

According to police, Mr. Wisdom and the victim knew each other.

Sag Harbor Police sought assistance from the Suffolk County Sheriff Department’s K-9 Unit and a Suffolk County Police helicopter, as well as other local emergency services, to try to locate Mr. Wisdom.

The department is asking that anyone with information on Mr. Wisdom’s whereabouts call (631) 725-5167. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
