Cops: Riverside Man Responsible For Firing Gunshots In Riverside Last Year

A Riverside man was arrested by Southampton Town Police on Monday in connection to a gunfire incident in Riverside last year.

Joe McKay, 46, was arrested after a police investigation found him to be responsible for firing four gunshots from a .45 caliber handgun at the intersection of Brown Street and Goodridge Avenue on May 9, 2018, police said. According to police, there were several individuals present at the time of the incident.

Mr. McKay was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, a felony, and transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters in Hampton Bays. He was arraigned in Southampton Town Justice Court on Tuesday morning and remanded to county jail.

Police described the incident as an “ongoing investigation” and asked anyone with information to call the detective division at 631-728-5000.
