Montauk Library: Honey Please

Bees.
Sep 9, 2019 10:05 AM

Of course you knew it was National Honey Month! On Thursday, September 19, at 4 p.m., the Montauk Library will salute the sweet stuff with a hands-on program featuring pollinator plants and their flowers. Environmental advocates Eve Kaplan-Walbrecht, owner of Garden of Eve Organic Farm and Market in Riverhead, will give a first-hand demonstration of what bees and hummingbirds are looking for when they visit a garden. Each participant will get a small plant to take home to begin a pollinator garden.

Garden of Eve farm, founded in 2001 by Kaplan-Walbrecht and her husband, Chris, is dedicated to providing delicious organic vegetables, fruits and flowers and to “making changes in the world by living them.” Registration is required for the free program, and details can be found at montauklibrary.org. The Montauk Library is located at 871 Montauk Highway in Montauk. Registration is required at 631-668-3377.
