Head-On Collision In North Sea Sends Two To Hospital Tuesday Evening

UPDATE, 6:30 P.M.

According to North Sea Fire Department Chief William Rosko Jr., the collision happened after a car hit the back of a trailer, lost control and T-boned another car.

Although there was "significant airbag deployment" in both cars, both motorists were able to walk away from the accident, he said.

Approximately 20 firefighters were on the scene while traffic was backed up significantly. As of 6:30 p.m., the road was still closed.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A head-on collision on Noyac Road near Fish Cove Lane in North Sea sent two people to Southampton Hospital on Tuesday evening, according to Southampton Town Police.

The two-car accident took place at 5:10 p.m., causing police to close Noyac Road in both directions from Majors Path to Fish Cove Lane and redirect traffic back through Majors Path, officers said.

It is unknown how serious the injuries are, according to police.

The North Sea Fire Department also responded to the scene.
