Southampton School District 2019 Propositions

In addition to the budget and the school board election, voters in the Southampton School District will be asked to vote on five propositions.

Proposition 3 would authorize the Board of Education to amend the Southampton Bus Fleet Replacement Capital Reserve Fund to an amount not to exceed $5 million and to extend the term of the fund for an additional 10 years through June 30, 2029. The money would be obtained from end of budget year surplus funds and/or budget appropriations.

Proposition 4 would authorize the Board of Education to appropriate $380,000 for the purchase of three 72-passenger buses from funds available in the Southampton Bus Fleet Replacement Capital Reserve Fund.

Proposition 5 would authorize the Board of Education to spend $1.8 million from the 2007 Ten Year Capital Reserve Fund for building renovations to provide climate control to the third-floor classrooms and offices of the Southampton Elementary School, totaling $975,000, and to the second-floor classrooms and offices of the Southampton Intermediate School, totaling $825,000.

Proposition 6 would authorize the Board of Education to contract with the Southampton Youth Association in the amount of $404,314 for the 2019-2020 school year for a youth recreation program and allow the necessary tax to be levied.

Proposition 7 would authorize the Board of Education to contract with the Southampton History Museum in the amount of $235,000 for the 2019-2020 school year allow the necessary tax to be levied.

Why is the Parrish not in the school budget??? How can they run the ballot that the school district funds???
How is this LEGAL? Why did the BOE let this one go? Who works where???

This question has been asked SO many times. Perhaps Ms. Abdullah or someone from The Press could address/research this question?
The Southampton school district BOE does not answer questions.
