Southampton Man Charged With Sexually Abusing 10-Year-Old Girl

Aug 15, 2012 10:05 AM

A Southampton man was arrested late Friday after Southampton Town Police said that last spring he sexually abused a 10-year-old girl he knew.

Pedro Vladimir Quishpe, 34, was arrested at police headquarters at 11:50 p.m. on Friday and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, a felony, as well as forcible
touching and endangering the welfare of a child, both
misdemeanors, Detective Sergeant Lisa Costa said.

Mr. Quishpe is accused of abusing the girl during a single encounter at a home in Hampton Bays in 2011, police said. They declined to share further details, citing the sensitive nature of the crime.

Mr. Quishpe was remanded to the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside
in lieu of $15,000 bail
on Saturday and an additional hold was put on him by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, police said.
