Jul 8, 2012 10:28 AM

The Southampton Chamber of Commerce will kick off its Monday night Summer Drive-In Movie Series with a screening of “The Adventures Of Tintin,” on Monday, July 9, at Coopers Beach in Southampton.

Now in its third year at Coopers Beach, the four-year-old movie series will screen movies for the whole family to enjoy every Monday, through August 20, with gates opening at 7 p.m. and the movies beginning at dark each night. In the event of inclement weather, movies will be screened on Tuesdays.

The schedule is subject to change, but the rest of the schedule will include “Elf,” on July 16, “The Greatest Game Ever Played,” on July 23, “Zookeeper,” on July 31, “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” on August 6, “Hugo,” on August 13 and “Rango,” on August 20.

The film’s sound will be broadcast over FM radio. Dinner, snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase from the Coopers Beach Cafe. Alcohol, coolers or barbecues will not be permitted.

Admission is $40 per carload or $15 per walk-in. Tickets may be purchased at the gate or in advance at the Southampton Chamber office on Main Street in Southampton Village. Cars will be admitted on a first come, first served basis. All proceeds from the films will benefit the Southampton Chamber of Commerce.
