Cops: North Sea Traffic Stop Yields Drugs, Cash, Weapon

May 15, 2012 12:14 PM

A Connecticut man was arrested early Sunday morning in North Sea after Southampton Town Police said he was found to be in possession of a felony quantity of drugs, as well as paraphernalia related to their sale, and a weapon.

Officers said they pulled over a black 2008 Volkswagen Passat driven by Nicholas G. Reisini, 25, of Bethel for an equipment violation at about 1:50 a.m. on Noyac Road near Cove Road and discovered he had a suspended license. He also was in possession of hashish, marijuana, brass knuckles, a digital scale, packaging material and a “large sum of cash,” they said.

Mr. Reisini was taken into custody at 2:10 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony, as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, all misdemeanors. He was also ticketed for traffic violations, police said.

Mr. Reisini was sent to the Suffolk County Jail in Riverside following a Sunday arraignment in Southampton Town Justice Court. Bail was set at $35,500, court officials said. He was due back in court at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

The Volkswagen was impounded.

And equally proud of our Southampton Town Police Department. Another job well done in helping to keep our streets free of drug dealers. Hat's off to all of our Police Officers and to Chief Billy Wilson.
