Tickets for the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club went on sale to the general public on June 12. They can be purchased online at usga.org/tickets.

The United States Golf Association notes on its website that it is the only official seller of U.S. Open Championship tickets, so tickets obtained from sources other than the USGA could be lost, stolen, or even counterfeit tickets, and therefore will not be honored at the admission gate.

The USGA announced in 2011 that the U.S. Open Championship would be played at Shinnecock Hills, June 11 to 17, 2018. The event was last held at the course in 2004. Next year’s tournament will mark the fifth time the U.S. Open has been held at Shinnecock Hills, a course that was opened in 1891, but was redesigned by William Flynn in 1931. It will also mark the 19th time that the U.S. Open will be played in New York State and the 10th time on Long Island. The USGA has already announced that the tournament will return to Shinnecock Hills for the sixth time in 2026.

Does anyone know where they're planning on parking all the cars? Don't know if they can reuse the pedestrian bridge. The road has been widened since the last Open. Should be interesting

There goes our road. Bridge is no problem, lease a wider one. Open makes tons of money, pays Shinnecock big money.
A lot of free labor and you have to buy your clothes???

Hopefully Southampton Village will come up with ways to better leverage the tourism this time. The Village should locate an area that could hold a large parking area and shuttle to the course. The Village would really benefit from some evening foot traffic that week.

One big problem is the morning traffic, which has increased tremendously since the last Open. Like I said, it'll be interesting

The US Open will produce additional traffic and people. The sooner you get with that logical truth, the faster you people will stop sounding like idiots.

I attended both Opens held in Southampton in the past. Both times, I was impressed with how well the access and parking were handled. I hope the LIRR reopens the stop at the College for that week. That was a great help. True, the trade parade traffic will affect coming from the west in the am and going to the east in the afternoon/pm.

Why doesn't the LIRR run a stop from the EAST stopping at the open?
