Bishop To Speak On Issues

Oct 10, 2011 2:50 PM

The third in a series of community discussions at the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, “The Politics of it All—The Quest for Answers” with U.S. Representative Tim Bishop, will be held on Tuesday, October 18, at 7 p.m.

A meet-and-greet session will inform attendees about what Mr. Bishop is doing both locally and in Washington, D.C. There will also be a chance to voice concerns through a question-and-answer session.

Mr. Bishop was elected to Congress in 2002 and represents the state’s 1st Congressional District, from Smithtown to Montauk Point. He has hosted more than 100 Town Hall meetings throughout his district and is a lifelong Long Islander.

The series is possible through a grant from the Long Island Community Foundation and is sponsored by the NAACP and the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, located at 551 Sag Harbor Turnpike.

Ineffective and willfully dense as to real problems with the country.

Mr. Bishop may have hosted 100 Town Hall Meetings but I doubt he listened to anyone. Mr. Bishop is only happy when he can wrap his sticky fingers on every last cent (never his own) from out already empty pockets. Check out the wonderful job he did on Souhampton College,.

Not dense - because he's not stupid - just wilfully blind. He is someone who has never employed or paid anyone out of his own pocket - "politics" at its worst.

A Quest for Answers? Notice it doesn't say '' A Quest for Truthful Answers''. Feel free to go and soak it all up, there will be plenty of sycophants, union thugs, apple polishers, occupiers and hedge funded upper east-siders from behind the privets. Perhaps he could clarify how thoroughly a Queen takes a Bishop and at what price.

And your a shining example of what's wrong with America so I guess your even (well, not exactly even, he graduated high school!)

Bishop has received the lowest possible score from national security organization Keep America Safe; a score of zero from Committee on Limitation of Taxes (he was labeled an "enemy of the taxpayer"); and a council on small business labeled him one of New York's worst, noting he "voted against small businesses on every major occasion". It is amazing this guy has been able to stay in office for 8 yrs. Small businesses have gotten this country out of every major depressed, regressed, digressed and ...more

I own you boy. Nice Try.

"Keep America Safe" is nothing more than a neo-con propaganda machine that exists to encourage war. You saying they gave Bishop a low rating is like me saying Barbara Streisand considers Rick Perry stupid. Nice try.

Has L'il Tim ever held a real job? Not some figurehead position at a university but an actual JOB? He hasn't the slightest clue about business and his rubber stamping of the Deomkratz' liberal agenda has made him culpable in our economic problems. His silence on the AWS FLEABAGGERS and their anti-capitalist rants leads one to believe he's in agreement with them. Sorry Tim, time for you to get off the government teat and get out in the real world.

What, bigfresh, you hate him because he was smart enough not to have to work at McDonalds with you.
By razza5351 (551), East Hampton on Oct 21, 11 5:28 PM
Look at the enlightened progressive. I see someone working at McDonalds as a person trying to improve their life by taking a starter step in the right direction, while to someone like Razza, a person working there is the target of ridicule.

No wonder so many liberals see no shame in a welfare check, but have no problem looking down on people working in jobs that are "beneath" them.
By RealityFirst (597), Bridgehampton on Oct 21, 11 6:22 PM
I agree that Tim has done a poor job. But, this is America and we keep voting him back in again. Are people just not paying attention or have the demographics changed and the voting population is just more like NYC?
