High school student-athlete J.P. Harding reached the milestone 1,000-point level in his varsity basketball career and joins his father as the only father-son combination in Bridgehampton School history to score 1,000 points each. He is now the 16th basketball player to score 1,000 career points.

The importance of washing hands was just one part of a scientific experiment that second-graders in the health and wellness class took part in. Students exposed potato slices to different areas of their classroom that they assumed would have germs including desks, doorknobs and the floor. They then made predictions on which potato slice contained the most germs and the least germs and observed and recorded their results. They concluded that their hands and their desks were two big hot spots for germs.

Learning how to swim is one of life’s most valuable skills. In addition to the benefit of water safety for children, it soon becomes one of the most enjoyable forms of recreation and fitness. Bridgehampton’s kindergarten and first-grade students take swim lessons at the YMCA pool.

The December Students of the Month are Erick Alvarez, Nick Bonilla, Elver Cruz, Emma Hernandez, Brynn Lamb, Alysson Pichon, Vassilia Reilly and Kevin Tuba Sinchi.
