Pair Of Public Hearings On Bridgehampton Gateway Set For December 14

Nov 17, 2017 2:28 PM

A pair of public hearings on the Bridgehampton Gateway project will be held by the Southampton Town Planning Board next month.

Developer Carol Konner is making a new attempt at developing the 13-acre Bridgehampton Gateway property, which sits across the street from the Bridgehampton Commons shopping center.

On Thursday, December 14, at 6 p.m. the public will have a chance to speak about a proposal to subdivide an 8.1-acre parcel on Kellis Pond into three lots for a small residential subdivision.

Another public hearing will be held the same night on an Equinox fitness facility, which is proposed on the eastern side of the cluster of properties—a pair of buildings, one 13,000 square feet and one 14,000 square feet.

Previously, Southampton Town Board initiated a special change of zone called a planned development district, or PDD, to build a mixed-use development. The plans have since fallen through, and Ms. Konner is now looking to build the residential subdivision, as well as the gym, which is an allowable use under that property’s current highway business zoning.
