Quality food and plenty of it; no nonsense, reasonably priced menu and diner atmosphere make this the go-to place for a hearty breakfast or lunch made to your specifications. No one stands on pretensions here. Career waitresses tell you exactly what you'll get on the order and will cheerfully make suggestions. Don't let the exterior turn you off. And need I say that they make all the ice creams? Yum!

Excellent value for money. Fresh fish regardless of the preparation, inventive side dishes and very special vegetable dishes. Kid friendly too.

Having lived in Thailand for a while, I can tell you that the food at Phao Thai Kitchen is authentic, and delicious. The portions are generous as well. I like the variety -- from vegetarian all the way to Massaman Curry with tender beef and stewed potatoes. I also like the play of Western-based foods with a Thai twist -- like the pork ribs with green curry coleslaw.
