Man Found Dead In His Truck In Montauk On August 22 Aug 30, 19 3:03 PM

A 52-year-old Pennsylvania man was found dead in his pickup truck in Montauk on Thursday, August 22.

A patron of the Montauk Marine Basin who knew Paul Ramirez found him unresponsive there at about 7 a.m., said Detective Sergeant Dan Toia of the East Hampton Police Department.

Sgt. Toia said the death was not suspicious, and that Mr. Ramirez, who had a boat docked at the marina, appeared to have suffered a medical event.

Sgt. Toia said Mr. Ramirez “was a figure who was always around on the weekends in the fishing scene.

“It wasn’t unusual for him to sleep in his vehicle,” Sgt. Toia added. “The owners also thought he was sleeping after a long night of fishing.”

There were no signs of suicide or symptoms of a drug overdose, he said. The Suffolk County Medical Examiner is investigating the cause of death.... more
